Job Description


This is a varied role, where you will be responsible for the following:

  • Ensuring that train upgrades, both software and hardware, are executed in line with the project plan.
  • Supporting readiness work for future stages of the project including DITLO exercises, planning fleet utilization etc.
  • Where test and maintenance requirements conflict arrange safe mitigation and formalizing through use of concessions or similar.
  • Investigating significant train failures that are believed to be outside design intent.
  • Collating failure data across the active fleet to ensure ‘one off’ or fleet wide issue.
  • Support remedial work if found to be a deviation from build intent.
  • Gathering filed data to support reliability modifications and trends.

Qualifications
  • Understanding of RFLI rulebook.
  • Experience with the integration of train software and hardware configuration.
  • Detailed understanding of current COS operation and planned phases to passenger operation.
  • Extensive experience of analysing and identifying issues with TCMS S/W.
  • Detailed knowledge of IP Network configuration and architecture.
  • Technical capability to work from individual unit defects to root cause.
  • System level experts for sub systems, Passengers Doors & DOO.
  • Capability to rectify defects that the depot staff cannot resolve – supporting both availability and root cause identification.
  • Software type testing, trail and implementation.
  • Understanding of conversion requirements such as hardware config, software config etc.
  • Integration of scheduled activities with OOC day to day operations.
  • Single and multiple car test experience
  • Transit readiness and execution of single cars experience.

  • 6 - 12 month fixed term or inside IR35 contract
  • Salary/rate – depending on experience
