About the role

We are looking for two roles to help accelerate the work to transform the newly developed People Function and delivery of the reward agenda, sat with the newly established Reward Centre of Excellence.

You would have a part to play in helping to develop and deliver a transformative reward agenda, which will support the organisation to deliver its strategic objectives. Principal Accountabilities

  • With the Reward Lead, lead on the development and implementation of the GLA’s reward strategy, including the development and implementation of a new and revised pay and grading system.
  • Develop and coordinate the ongoing review of the reward strategy (both financial and non-financial).
  • Working with the People Function, act as the lead to embed reward strategies, linking across the functional areas managed by each Centre of Excellence.
  • Establish and maintain good working relationships with external organisations to benchmark the GLA against industry best practice in the area of reward
  • Lead on developing solutions for the GLA through research and liaison with external experts. Ensure collaborative work on Reward strategies across the GLA Group.
  • Provide expert input to the development of People policies, strategies and procedures to ensure they reflect good Reward practice, meet legislative requirements and are as efficient and effective as possible.
  • Lead on procurement activity to identify appropriate services and contracts to deliver Reward programmes; building effective relationships with legal and procurement services and coordinating tender processes and contract paperwork.

Person Specification

Technical Requirements/ Experience/ Qualifications

  • Significant experience initiating and delivering reward programmes
  • Corporate Member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Development or ability to demonstrate equivalent level of professional competence through learning and experience.
  • High degree of numeracy and experience of producing and analysing data to support development of the business and meet all internal and external reporting requirements.
  • Substantial experience gained in a senior strategic human resources role in a complex and high profile organisation with multiple stakeholders, including management of complex employee relations cases
  • Experience of working in reward roles and with job evaluation methodologies

This role is based at City Hall, in the Royal Docks (Kamal Chunchie Way, London, E16 1Z).

GLA staff are hybrid working up to 3 days a week in our offices and remotely depending on their role. As part of this, you will need to split your time between home working and coming into the office.
