HR Specialist & Talent Lead

Our client is looking for an enthusiastic and experienced generalist HR professional with a focus on L&D and Talent Development to work alongside the HRBPs and take ownership of the full training lifecycle, working with external providers to ensure the training and development of internal talent meets the future needs of the business, and identifying, assessing and hiring new talent in alignment with the business succession plan.

HR Specialist & Talent Lead Responsibilities

As HR Specialist & Talent Lead, your duties will include but not be limited to:

  • Undertaking the research, scope, creation and delivery (predominately via external training providers) of training programmes to meet evolving business needs
  • Identifying and delivering against individual and organisational level training and development needs
  • Working with Managers to develop PDPs for their team using various learning methods and strategies business-wide
  • Working with stakeholders in conjunction with the Head of People, to develop retention plans
  • Delivering a small amount of internal training on internal processes
  • Working with the HR team to offer support on talent acquisition and propose and implement improvements to the internal recruitment process

HR Specialist & Talent Lead Experience

To be successful in this role you will ideally be a CIPD qualified or equivalent HR professional with generalist HR/ HR business partnering experience and recent hands-on experience and focus on L&D and staff development and have demonstrable experience of working in a similar development focused role. You will have a strong network of connections with external training providers and previous experience of coordinating feedback from Executives and stakeholders for training requirements, getting proposals from external training providers, tailoring training, presenting to the Executive team, implementing and rolling out training company-wide within an innovative and fast-paced SME environment. It is vital that you have a strong commercial awareness and understanding of what the business priorities and goals are and how the talent need to be trained and developed to maximise the potential of the workforce and revenue. You will be a proactive listener and comfortable working in a constantly changing and ambiguous start/ stop environment where you will work collaboratively and autonomously. Our client uses Bamboo HR and so experience of using this would be a bonus but is not essential! You must have learning & development experience within a technical environment organisation such as engineering or biotech for example, working with a highly intellectual workforce.

Our client is based in Oxford (OX2). There is parking available on-site.

This position offers hybrid working - 60% office and 40% home-working.

Our client works 37.5 hours per week. They are flexible and expect the same flexibility in return.
