In this diverse role of high impact within our matrix organization, we are hiring an energized, inclusive, and forward-thinking HR Manager Northern Europe (12-month contract) to join our team in our Materials Group (graphics.averydennison.com / label.averydennison.com) in Cramlington, U.K. with a direct reporting line to our HR Director.

Your Mission:

  • While providing HR leadership for the Cramlington, Denmark, and Dublin sites and support for Sweden, you will develop, deploy, and lead the implementation of our human resource strategies to support our business objectives and corporate and legal requirements.
  • Working closely with our European HR leadership team, our Corporate Functional HR Leaders, and our Organisation Development team, you will develop, deliver, and evaluate strategic European and Corporate HR initiatives and drive the effective implementation of the performance management system in line with corporate requirements, ensuring it cascades from the company strategic plan.
  • With your input for developing strategic training and development plans and programs to address individual, team, and business needs identified by feedback programs, you will be a proactive “local market” expert, as well as responsible for the consistent implementation of reward and recognition programs and systems to ensure we remain competitive and to drive business initiatives.
  • Next to providing data and input to vital centralized programs (training / policy deployment and development / Payroll & Compensation & Benefits / PeopleSoft optimization / Data Privacy / Relocation et al.), you will implement processes and systems to recruit high-caliber employees, enhance our HR capability / service delivery, and drive succession planning tools to maximize our succession capability.
  • Across your region, you will develop, implement and drive communication and culture programs, ensure your region's HR policies and processes are in line with legal, business, and cultural requirements, and oversee the development, review, and implementation of the Occupational Health and employee assistance / support programs.
  • Being a coach and role model to our local leadership team, you will drive a diverse and inclusive yet inspirational, innovative, and engaging company culture to foster influential people leadership through the business, developing all levels of the organization.

Qualifications


What we expect from you! - Your Expertise:

  • Previous work experience in a generalist human resources position (CIPD qualified), ideally within a manufacturing environment
  • Solid (working) experience in UK employment legislation, employee relations & collective agreements negotiation, as well as strategic planning and analytical/financial skills
  • Exceptional leadership and influencing skills combined with a passion for continuous improvement / innovation / change management / cross-cultural awareness / diversity, equity, and inclusion
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to be an inspirational coach and empower your team
  • Skilled in building key relationships at all levels of the organization with an “executive maturity” mindset to work as a “Business Partner”
  • Creativity, excitement, and innovation, entrepreneurial spirit for growing a sustainable business to set your career at Avery Dennison
