Creative Designer (Graphic & Digital Design)

Northern Diver is a rapidly growing company. Having been in business for over 40 years we have created an innovative and highly regarded product range within the recreational, Commercial, Offshore, Water Rescue and Military diving sectors.

This is an outstanding and exciting opportunity for an experienced creative designer to join our in-house team. To succeed in this role you should be friendly, outgoing, bursting with ideas and possess the knowledge to assist the team with increasing our online presence, push our brand, improve our campaigns, and maintain/grow our reputation within the industry. You will have a demonstrable creative energy, good communication skills, a strong understanding of design principles, and an eagerness to listen, grow and collaborate with colleagues.

We’re keen to hear from candidates with all round design experience that would be happy working in a small tight knit team. You must be confident and experienced with all things including, but not limited to, printed brochures, flyers, technical product data sheets, packaging and product design, point of sale graphics, online design and content for our websites, email marketing designs and expanding our online sales channels where required.

  • Basic salary: Negotiable
  • Hours of work: Monday to Friday 8.30am to 5:00pm + 1 in 5 Saturdays, from 9.00am to 12.30pm.

Your tasks will include:

  • Creating designs for both print and digital platforms
  • Produce engaging multi-media content to use across social media, website and other digital channels, driving follower numbers and engagement
  • Produce and edit digital videos for promotional purposes
  • Assist in writing and developing engaging content including news, articles, product descriptions and press releases to be used online and in print
  • Assist in preparing for trade shows and support the sales team at events
  • Analyse results from email marketing campaigns to improve performance, open rates, click through rates and increase sales

Due to the changing nature of our business the job duties will inevitably change. From time to time, as directed by Management, it may be required to undertake other duties which fall within the successful candidates’ capabilities.

  • Great attention to detail
  • A creative thinker who can develop content that will engage the reader
  • Ability to work under pressure on multiple tasks at a time, individually or in a team
  • Use your own initiative to prioritise workload
  • Good analytical, planning, and organisational skills
  • Proactive, passionate, and motivated
  • Graphic design: 3+ years (essential)
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (specifically Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator)
  • Knowledge of Mailchimp (not essential, can be trained)
  • Knowledge of YouTube Studio (not essential)
  • Understanding of Premiere Pro (advantageous)
  • HTML/coding knowledge (advantageous)
  • Google shopping and pay per click experience (advantageous)
  • Understanding of SEO, social algorithms, and analytics (advantageous)
