hi,
I’ve install xampp in my c drive. I also work on Java using MySql database server as back end.
First I installed Java and Mysql. I set a password for my MySql database. Next I install xampp ingnoring mysql installation . But I cannot connect PHP with MySql server. When I click phpmyadmin link it generates error. Please help me to solve this problem

i can’t use my php csript in xampp 1.7.2, but its work fine in xampp 1.6.3a..
what sould i do??help…

i am getting an error when i try to install xampp with vista. it is saying tar is not as a command, program or batch file. What am i doing wrong. i am placing this at my command prompt
tar xvfz xampp-linux-1.7.2.tar.gz -C /opt

I had problem when i installed XAMPP . when I try to server apache at local host: http://localhost then it automatic go to http://localhost/XAMPP/index.php, I can’t get default localhost page . It come out failure connected. Therefore, I can’t located to test my file.php. My system is window vista home basic. Please help help!!!. I ‘m ready read some problem same mine, but can’t figure out.( I already reset security for username, pw in XMPP1.7.2, and also run XAMPP control panel but doesn’t work.)

Hi Hendy,

I’m going to need a little more information, and I can’t promise I’ll be able to help you find the answer either.
- what is the PHP file supposed to do?
- did you set up a password at all during the installation process or with MySQL? You might need to uninstall and then reinstall XAMPP to make sure
- why do you need a MySQL database? Is this related to the PHP file?

And now, another problem appear..
when I try to open the database, it show like this:
#1045 – Access denied for user ‘root’@'localhost’ (using password: NO)
phpMyAdmin tried to connect to the MySQL server, and the server rejected the connection. You should check the host, username and password in your configuration and make sure that they correspond to the information given by the administrator of the MySQL server.
What should I do? Please……………………. helpppppppppppppppp!!!

hi.. I got it now, it should be locate inside the c:/xampp/htdocs/. But how to connect the database from php?
It shows like this
“Warning: mysql_query() [function.mysql-query]: Access denied for user ‘ODBC’@'localhost’ (using password: NO) in C:\xampp\htdocs\public html\main_left.php on line 3″.
how to fix it? please help…. thank you

hi.. just ignore about the localhost, it works now when I click admin in control panel. Everyting is running fine. But, the .php files still cannot be opened, whats wrong with that? Do I need to locate the .php files inside the c:/xampp/ directory or it doesn’t matter the files are located as long as the xampp is running correctly?

hi… I am a beginner, and this is my first time to learn all of this. I don’t know what I’m wrong.. I have installed xampp the latest version 1.7.2, then I try to open http://localhost/ and it keeps loading.. It just shows blank page. And I have other question, when the installation successful, where should I put my web files to? I have .php file and it cannot be open.. it just asking open or save like download file from the web.. please help me.. thank you..
